Monaco, Editions du Rocher, 1957 and 1958. 3 tomes in 3 bound volumes, in-12, with two-tone printed covers. 130, 192 and 188 pp. A small water stain at the foot of the spine of all three volumes; pages browned, as is often the case. A very complete first French edition in three volumes, for which no large-format editions were printed. This collection brings together five essays by Ernst Jünger (1895–1998), including ‘Treatise on the Rebel’, in which the German writer examines the place of the individual in the face of a totalitarian society.
