Description
MG ‘Midget’ type PA 1934... Chassis number: PA0901... From 1924 onwards, William Morris began modifying production models. A few months later, his business took the name Morris Garage. In the 1920s and early 1930s, the range centred on two model names: Midget and Magnette. The former was a small, entry-level roadster, whilst the latter was a slightly more powerful and comfortable model. The first Midget, the Type C, appeared in 1931. New types followed one after another in line with mechanical modifications, even minor ones, so that by 1934 we had already reached the Type P. The chassis of the Type P was very slightly lengthened, but still used the 847 cm³ 4-cylinder overhead camshaft engine… The car in question was sold new in the United Kingdom in 1934. It was imported from Switzerland in 2015 and registered in France on 25 March 2015. It has a classic car registration certificate, with a tax power rating of 5CV. The vehicle has not undergone a roadworthiness test since that date....The vehicle is in fine condition. It has clearly undergone a complete restoration within the last 10 to 20 years. It should be noted that we have no historical records regarding the vehicle’s history, apart from the Histovec report. The chassis is in good condition, as are the running gear components. The friction shock absorbers are recent...As for the bodywork, which appears to be in good condition, whilst the bonnet and wings are indeed made of metal, the body and doors have undergone significant modification, with the original wood/metal structure of the doors and body having been replaced by a wood/composite (plastic)... The interior features two seats upholstered in green leather, which are in good condition. The carpets and body trim are in good condition. The soft top and its roll bars are in good condition. The vehicle also has a tonneau cover in good condition, and two side screens, also in good condition... The dashboard is complete and features all its original instruments. The wood trim is in good condition. The odometer displays a mileage that cannot reasonably be considered accurate. It would need to be checked to ensure it is working correctly. The folding windscreen is in good condition. It is complemented by two wind deflectors...The tyres are old and partially cracked. They must be replaced before the vehicle is put back on the road. The spoked wheels are in good condition... Externally, the various body panels are in good condition, as are the chrome fittings, the grille and the radiator. An inspection of the chassis confirms that it is in satisfactory condition... In the absence of reliable information regarding the vehicle’s condition, maintenance history and the date it was taken off the road, it will be essential to have the vehicle transported on a flatbed tow lorry and to have all safety-related components inspected and repaired by a professional, if necessary, before putting it back on the road. The vehicle comes with its classic car registration certificate. It is sold as seen, without a roadworthiness test and without any warranty. We invite you to visit the vehicle to form your own opinion... Expert: Dominique Pagneux. LOT SOLD BY NAME ONLY; VIEWING BY APPOINTMENT IN THE DOLE (JURA) AREA UNTIL MONDAY 20 JULY AT 10.30 AM
