On Cavour’s policy: he cannot be ungrateful towards France, which gave him Lombardy and has an army of 500,000 men, but he can be ungrateful towards Garibaldi, who gave him Sicily and Naples but has only an army of 15,000 to 20,000 men! - 5 pp. in-4 (1, 2, 3, 6, 7, second half of May 1862). A long text, the beginning of which is missing, concerning a mix-up between the names Compagna and Campagna following the arrest of the latter, a notorious bandit leader. And on a talk by Dumas on the Fatherland. The title of this newspaper, which Dumas founded in Naples and whose first issue appeared on 11 October 1860, was suggested to him by Garibaldi. Until his departure from Naples in March 1864, Dumas was virtually its sole editor. He wrote his articles in French, which were then published in Italian. In them, Dumas covered every conceivable political and literary subject. Some of these articles were published in French in various newspapers, notably in the second volume of *Le Mousquetaire*. Only two Italian libraries hold a complete collection of the newspaper. Dumas’s manuscripts, as well as the Italian translations, are found only very rarely and, more often than not, in fragmentary form.
