- Eugène de MIRECOURT. *Fabrique de romans*. Maison Alexandre Dumas et compagnie. Paris, available from all bookshops, 1845.
In-8, paperback, 64 pp., a few pinholes. A full-scale attack on Dumas, no doubt motivated by resentment: Mirecourt is said to have asked Dumas in vain to take part in this ‘factory’!!

8vo, orange half-percaline, title label in chocolate-coloured morocco, covers preserved, spine worn, corners rounded, some foxing.
52 pp., 2 photographs pasted in by Pierre Petit.
The author was Alexandre Dumas’s last secretary. Reference to the 3rd edition on the title page. The first edition, published in instalments from 1867 onwards, listed 10 photographs by Pierre Petit on the title page. The BnF holds only the first instalment of this first edition. Vicaire mentions only this 3rd edition and states that six instalments were published.
