Discovering in the archives the prototype of a bag with eight characters of a love alphabet drawn by Salvador Dali on a restaurant tablecloth for his muse Gala, the chairman of Lancel, with the support of the Dali Foundation, launched a Daligramme collection of around fifty laser-engraved accessories and bags in 2012. Vogue noted at the time: "By mixing love, art and fashion, Lancel has created a collection that already has a cult following." This very limited edition bag, No. 1/888, comes from the designer's personal collection.
