18th-century French school (Circle of Jean-Baptiste Le Prince) Old Man at His Study Oil on canvas Previously attributed to Leonard Bramer on a label on the reverse 89 x 79 cm Provenance: Anonymous sale; London, Christie, Manson & Woods, 26 January 1979, lot 40 (attributed to Koninck) Comment: The hammer price is exclusive of VAT. VAT at the reduced rate of 5.5 per cent applies to the hammer price and the sales commission. This VAT is recoverable for French professionals. It is refundable to a buyer outside the EU upon presentation of proof of export outside the EU, or to a professional buyer who can provide an intra-Community VAT number and a document proving delivery within the Member State. The hammer price will be exclusive of VAT. 5.5% VAT will be added to the hammer price and the buyer’s premium.
