Description
ISABEY Jean-Baptiste (1767–1855), painter, miniaturist, watercolourist, draughtsman, lithographer, opera set designer and costume designer.
A signed autograph letter dated 6 October 1847 in Paris, addressed to Champfleury*: ‘Niel, who had breakfast with me this morning, tells me that you are back; indeed, he tells me that your *Pierrot millionnaire* is being performed tomorrow. Would you, or rather, amidst all your troubles, care to consider that my brother and I would be delighted to offer you a magnificent pair of handkerchiefs, which we send to you with our warmest regards.”
2 pages in-12 (dim: 11 x 16 cm). A small tear in the top margin, not affecting the text; otherwise a fine copy.
