Receipt: ‘We, the undersigned, acknowledge having received from Mr Romet, cashier to the farmers-general of His Grace the Duke of Bouillon, our father-in-law, the sum of three thousand livres for an instalment due this past October, in respect of the 12,000 livres which His Grace the Duke of Bouillon granted us by an order signed in his own hand on 8 January 1759, to be drawn from the same sum forming part of 22,000 livres entered in the first chapter of the statement of expenses attached to the general lease under the name of the Count of La Tour d’Auvergne, for which we hereby give a receipt without prejudice to the current instalment.
