[EMPIRE] Louis-Alexandre BERTHIER (1753–1815); Marshal of the First Empire (1804), Prince of Wagram (1809). Letter signed ‘Alexandre’ (1p) dated 23 October 1813 in Erfurt and addressed to General Bertrand, commander of the 4th Army Corps. ‘My Lord the Count, the Emperor has just approved the allocation amongst the various army corps of the clothing, equipment, etc., held in the Erfurt depots.
