[CHOUANNERIE] PASTOL, Yves Marie (1770–1813), General of the Revolution and the Empire. Having embarked on the ship L’Achille on 4 April 1793, he campaigned at sea in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. He served with the Army of the West from late 1793 to 1795, then with the Army of the Interior from 1795 to 1796. Promoted to captain in the 18th Line Regiment on 18 December 1796, he served with the Army of Italy until 1798. He was slightly wounded at Tarvis on 23 March 1797. Assigned to the Army of Helvetia, he served as Brune’s aide-de-camp from 15 March 1798. Assigned to the Army of Italy between 1800 and 1801, he was appointed brigade commander of the 52nd Line Regiment on 19 September 1801. Transferred to the Army of Helvetia between 1802 and 1803, he was made an Officer of the Legion of Honour on 14 June 1804. Promoted to brigadier-general on 30 May 1809, he served in the Army of Italy. He was made a Baron of the Empire on 15 August 1809. He died at the Champ d’Honneur on 31 May 1813 Autograph signed letter (on letterhead ‘Army of the West / Y.
