A leaf from a liturgical manuscript in Latin (plainchant) from a Gradual or Antiphonary dating from the late 14th/early 15th century (1380–1430), on parchment, with richly decorated Gothic musical notation. The leaf is laid out as follows: a column containing musical staves of four red lines with interlinear text; the whole enriched with a grotesque figure within the text, a large decorated initial and a vertical frieze painted in polychrome with plant motifs; the whole is illuminated. (Minor soiling and minor signs of normal wear, otherwise a fine example). Height: 55.5 cm – Width: 39.5 cm Appraisal carried out by Pascal GUILLEBAUD. Lot from a voluntary sale.
