‘Did he who thought he was dreaming of himself think of the other? Perhaps.
Which numbers, on this domino, correspond to the untouched,
To the secret that would open a palace, or rather an abyss,
Where everything would be cast down, for the duration of a dream, and man along with it?”
With the following handwritten text below:
“A poem, which just came to me, right at this very moment, in response to your kind interest. Warmest regards, Pierre Seghers”.

3-LANZMANN Claude (1925–2018), journalist, writer, filmmaker. A former member of the Resistance, he is best known as the director of *Shoah*.
Autograph card signed with his name:
‘The guillotine, and more generally capital punishment and the various methods of carrying out the death penalty, have been the great preoccupation of my life. Claude Lanzmann’. Size: 14.7 x 11 cm; fine condition.
4-CHABROL Jean-Pierre (1925–2001), writer, screenwriter
Signed typewritten letter (signature accompanied by a sketched self-portrait in profile), Genholac, [30 July 1998; see envelope], addressed to Gérard Leman:
‘… your letter touched me… I’m thinking about the books that have left their mark on me… there are many. As for authors, I must mention Hugo, Hemingway, Caldwell, Malaparte, Tolstoy and, above all, Diderot. I’ve just started Victor Hugo’s *The Man Who Laughs*… which I’d never read before! I’m thoroughly enjoying it! Thank you for your loyalty.” A superb autograph signature with a hand-drawn sketch of himself in profile.

5- Michel CIRY (1919–2018), painter, engraver, writer and composer.
Autograph signed letter dated 18 January 2005, [addressed to the collector G. Leman]:
‘I have begun a fifth small painting in which the flowing hair of a weeping Mary Magdalene plays a prominent role; her sombrely framed face bears the mark of unfathomable grief, which is sublimated by the divinity of her subject’.
