[REVOLUTION] Pierre DAUNOU (1761–1840); politician, archivist, historian, President of the National Convention (3–9 August 1795), President of the Council of Five Hundred (1798), member of the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences (1832), permanent secretary of the Academy of Inscriptions and Belles-Lettres (1838). Autograph letter (1p) signed on 18 February 1832 in Paris and addressed to ‘François Morand [1808–1881], archivist of the town of Boulogne-sur-Mer’. ‘Should you happen to be staying in Paris, I shall be only too happy to provide you with access to everything concerning the town and the former county of Boulogne-sur-Mer held in the Trésor des Chartes and the other archives of the kingdom. You (???) may make copies; you will find in the archives’ offices every facility to facilitate and expand your research (…) I shall be delighted to have this opportunity to assist you in your work, provided that my involvement in it does not receive any sort of publicity (…)”.
