A signed autograph letter dated 20 November 1852 in Paris. He thanks his correspondent for sending a catalogue of an auction of curiosities to be held in Dijon: ‘(…) Mr de Sommerard intends to go and see it, and I hope he will be able to make some acquisitions there for the Cluny Museum. If I were not currently so tied up in Paris, I would no doubt have accompanied him and sought out a few books for myself…”.
