Jaeger-LeCoultre, Master Tourbillon, ref. 146.2.34.S, a 750 rose gold watch featuring a tourbillon with a 24-hour display and date Movement: cal. 978, self-winding, 33 jewels, no. 3426627 Case: no. 2397727, diameter 41 mm, glass caseback revealing the movement Complications: tourbillon, 24-hour display and date Jaeger-LeCoultre strap: brown crocodile leather with a 750 rose gold JL folding clasp Signature: dial, movement, case The tourbillon, a horological complication dating from the late 19th century, was invented to improve the accuracy of mechanical watches, but it is extremely complex to manufacture. Jaeger-LeCoultre presented its first tourbillon watch in 1946. Overall condition: Fair to good. Matt silver dial: Excellent condition. Rosé-coloured, luminescent hands: Excellent condition. Crystal: Excellent condition. Case: Fair to good condition, showing scratches from regular wear. Jaeger-LeCoultre 750 rose gold folding clasp: Jaeger-LeCoultre brown crocodile leather strap: Poor condition; strap needs replacing.
