A Belgian ceramicist trained at the École supérieure nationale des métiers d’art from 1955, he epitomised the revival of 20th-century French ceramics. Following a technical apprenticeship with Claude Pantzer, he worked closely with Raphaël Giarrusso between 1956 and 1962 on the Accolay pottery. Having settled in Paris in 1961, he produced numerous light fittings for Roche Bobois until 1971. Since 1973, his studio in Cannes has continued to produce sculptural pieces, which were recently celebrated in an exhibition at the Consortium Museum in Dijon.
