Ⓛ Important illustrated prayer manuscript (Rawdat al-Adhkar). Qajar Iran, dated hegira 1253 / AD 1837. Manuscript in Arabic on paper, 575 leaves, text copied in naskh script in black ink with rubrics in red ink, framed with blue fillets, including two full-page illustrations in ink and gold highlights depicting respectively the sanctuary of Mecca and the mosque of Kufa with its associated holy places. Bound in brown leather. 32 × 19 × 4.5 cm This manuscript contains the Rawdat al-Adhkār, a widely circulated compilation of Shi'ite prayers composed by Muhammad b. Muhammad Ridā Majdhūb al-Tabrīzī (d.1682). The colophon states that the text was copied in 1253 AH 1837, and - a rare occurrence - collated from the autograph copy completed in 1081 AH (1670), highlighting the care taken to faithfully transmit the text. An illustrated Qajar prayer book (Rawdat al-Adhkhar), Iran, dated 1253 AH / 1837 AD. Arabic manuscript on paper, 575 folios, of black naskh script, two full-page illustrations in black ink heightened with gold, depicting respectively the Holy Sanctuary in Mecca and the Mosque of Kufa with associated sacred sites, brown leather binding. A colophon notes that the manuscript was collated against the author's autograph, completed in 1081 AH / 1671 AD, an indication of the care taken in preserving the textual integrity of the work.
