This manuscript can be compared with a Qur'an, also copied by Muhammad Amin al-Rushdi, in the Rare Book Library of Istanbul University (inv. A.6671), whose colophon states that its master was Omer Vasfi Efendi, while other sources mention Akmolla Omer and Mahmud Raci Efendi (cf. Derman, 2010, pp. 316-321, no. 79).
Muhammad Amin al-Rushdi is also known as the author of the monumental inscriptions in the Hamidiye mausoleum in Bahçekapı (Eminönü, Istanbul), built between 1777 and 1789 for Sultan Abdülhamid I and housing the tombs of the latter, Mustafa IV and several members of the Ottoman dynasty.
