Ottoman Empire or India, dated 1319 H. / 1901
Arabic manuscript scroll on paper, consisting of four leaves, calligraphed in naskh in ink; the text, introduced by the basmala, presents - in several sections - prayers illustrated by the stages of the pilgrimage - the Kaa'ba, the Black Stone, the Maqam Ibrahim, the well of Zamzam, Mount 'Arafat and other holy places; the last six lines, copied in diwani, bear the date. The spine is titled in Arabic.
Condition: wear, slight creases, small stains, small edge chips, some restorations.
