Manuscript on paper, 44 leaves, calligraphed in nasta'liq in black ink on two columns and 15 lines per page. The work contains 18 aerial-view miniatures in colour depicting sacred sites in Mecca and Medina.
Bound in dark red morocco.
Condition: Traces of restoration, remargined, possible retouching, good overall condition.

This text is a poetic guide to the holy places of Islam, written by the 16th-century Sufi scholar Muhî al-Dîn Lârî. Written in Persian, the text was intended to make the rites of pilgrimage accessible to non-Arabic-speaking worshippers, particularly from Central Asia and Mughal India.
