Description
CHAUMET, “Lien” ring in 750‰ white gold and black ceramic, featuring a pavé setting with 6 diamonds, signed and numbered 1234230 - TDD 52 - Gross weight approx. 7.61 g (in good overall condition, in its original case and box)
COMMENT: The ‘lien’ motif first appeared in Chaumet’s design vocabulary in 1977, in the form of a stylised X-shaped cross. Chaumet developed it into a collection in its own right in the 2000s, centred on a simple symbolism: the ‘lien’ as a thread that unites two people and seals the defining moments of a life. The motif — one or two diagonal lines spanning the ring, most often set with diamonds — has become one of the most recognisable signatures of contemporary French jewellery.
The collection is divided into several ranges: Jeux de Liens (the simple or crossed link, the collection’s entry-level range, available as rings, pendants, bracelets and engravable Harmony medallions), Liens Évidence (the architectural ‘X’, wider and more assertive), Liens d’Amour and Liens Séduction (the link encircling a central stone). 750‰ yellow, rose or white gold, platinum, diamonds, and, for certain pieces, decorative stones (mother-of-pearl, onyx, malachite, carnelian, turquoise).
