Two-handed mace, Akau tau, made of finely carved toa wood and coiled plant fibres, entirely incised with geometric zigzag, zoomorphic and anthropomorphic motifs, Tonga Islands, 18th–19th century, L. 106 cm, patina and signs of wear, indigenous restoration.
