Dimensions: 143 x 106 cm (visible area). Wear, rubbing and losses. Provenance: the collection of Jean Bardou, founder of the JOB company, and retained by the family ever since. Provenance: Collection of Jean-Zacharie Pauilhac, Jean Bardou’s business partner in 1838 for the marketing of cigarette paper booklets, and retained in the family ever since. Our poster features the version modified and subsequently selected by the JOB company, which preferred Jane Atché’s work to that of Toulouse-Lautrec, amongst others. In her original version, Jane Atché depicted a woman in a straw-yellow dress, surrounded by wisps of smoke.
