A gilt bronze 'Naissance du Duc de Bordeaux' hanging clock, the white enamelled dial with Arabic numerals signed Chopin in Paris, set in a bollard surmounted by a child in a basket of roses, and flanked on either side by a vestal virgin protecting the child and a flaming Athenian woman. The oblong base rests on eight doucine pies decorated with flaming hearts, torches and quivers in ivy and laurel leaves. Restoration period. 38 x 35 x 12 cm (Minor wear, flame to be refixed).
