Gruppo d'Arte Decalage, 'Eggito', a coffee table with hand-painted decoration, Italy, 1958. Wooden table, with a hand-painted tabletop finished with a layer of resin. 'Eggito' or Egyptian decoration. Signed 'Decalage', for Gruppo d'Arte Decalage, Turin, Italy. Dated 1958. The Gruppo d'Arte Decalage was an Italian artist collective from Turin, founded by the painters Felix de' Cavero, Attilio Aloisi, and Nardo Girard. They were active from the early 1950s into the 1980s and were primarily known for their unique paintings on wood and hand-painted furniture. The collective collaborated with well-known Italian manufacturers, such as Cumino & Co in Milan and Turin.
