Full dress kepi of a First Class Medical Major, made of fine madder-red cloth, crimson velvet headband, gold-coloured braid, full dress insignia featuring a gilt brass caduceus with a tricolour silk cockade, gilt tassel, gilt faux chin strap and leather chin strap with gilt piping, brass buttons stamped with the caduceus, green silk inner cap, gilded leather headband with small metal studs (partially unstitched). Circa 1890–1900. Very good condition
