Description
Indian sabre of the ‘Firangi’ type. A hilt known as a ‘Khanda’ with a long tang for two-handed grip. The blade is reinforced by narrow, scalloped steel strips, which give it strength and rigidity, whilst the rest of the blade is light and flexible (oxidation at the tip of the blade). 17th/18th century. Total length 107 cm, blade 81.5 cm.
