Officer’s ‘donkey-step’ sword. Beautiful blade with a colichemarde hilt engraved with military motifs; all-steel mount re-pierced and openwork with radiating sun motifs on each of the hilt’s shells, a motif repeated on the pommel and the body knot. Guard and quillon deeply engraved with scrollwork. The tang is covered with alternating thick overlaid filigree and fine twisted filigree; the ferrules are missing. Without scabbard.
