Description
Model 1811 boarding sabre, First Empire. Marked on the back of the blade: ‘Manufacture impériale de Klingenthal 181?’. Remains of a naval anchor on the blade. Two markings on the side of the blade: the letter “B” (corresponding to the inspector Bick), and the letter “A” with a star (corresponding to Inspector d’Alpy, who was in post at the factory from 1 January to 9 March 1912). The sabre can therefore be dated to March 1812.
