Cavalry officer’s sabre, Chilean model worn by the Moneda Palace Guard, with a slightly curved 850 mm blade inscribed on the back with ‘Manufacture d’armes de Châtellerault’ and ‘J.H.’, the Chilean coat of arms stamped on the ricasso, natural buffalo leather scabbard strap, seven-branch polished steel wraparound hilt, short-tailed pommel and horn pommel (cracks, small chip), steel scabbard with a single strap, signs of wear, oxidation, damage to the pommel, scabbard very slightly curved, total length 103 mm, fine example of French craftsmanship for Chile from the late 19th century.
