Naval officer’s sword, straight blade 780 mm long, stamped and signed ‘Coulaux Klingenthal’ at the heel, gilded brass hilt with a single branch, guard featuring an anchor with outstretched standards and a quillon in the shape of a shell, movable counter-guard, horn pommel, no filigree, chiselled pommel with a shell motif, leather scabbard with two gilt brass trims, wear to the scabbard, the tip is detached but present, with a Model 1872 Royal Navy officer’s belt and sword hanger, signs of wear, oxidation, total length 945 mm, France, Third Republic period.
