An officer’s cartridge case containing two Blissett-marked percussion pistols, with a paper label inside the lid reading ‘I. Blissett, gunmaker to His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex, No. 69 Leadenhall Street, London’ (label heavily worn, with gaps and tears), in an English-style green felt case containing two pistols, with 230 mm octagonal barrels, a stepped muzzle with engraving and a rear sight, a percussion lock engraved with foliage and signed I. Blissett, hammer engraved in the same style, trigger under an engraved trigger guard, checkered stock with a round pommel, ‘non-detachable’ ramrod on a stirrup, with a bullet mould, a bullet ramrod, a powder bulb, the case measures 458 x 207 x 65 mm; shows signs of wear and oxidation; 19th-century British manufacture; category D § e.
