Description
Year IX model infantry flintlock rifle, manufactured in Turin, used by the National Guard.
Round barrel with fluted breech, stamped and dated 1814. Breech block engraved ‘M 1777’. Flat-bodied lock engraved ‘Mre Imple de Turin’ and a round-bodied hammer. Iron fittings, some of which are stamped (the trigger guard was probably replaced during its time in the National Guard). Brass sight. Light walnut stock with a stamp dated 1814, a rectangular ‘PDL’ stamp, and the mark ‘A ST HARDI’. Iron ramrod with a flared tip.
