Officer’s flintlock musket based on the 1822 artillery model. Round barrel with fluted breech, bronzed (remnants), stamped ‘LV’ and dated 1824. Breech block marked ‘Mle 1822’. Standard lock plate marked ‘Mre Rle de Charleville’ and a round-bodied hammer. Brass fittings uniformly stamped ‘G’ (with the exception of the lock plate). Engraved nameplate on the breech block reading ‘Edouard d’Ambert 21 rue BOUCHERAT’. Thumb rest in white metal engraved in Gothic script with ‘VF’. Iron ramrod. Barrel length: 92 cm.
