Flintlock hunting carbine.
Square-bore, rifled barrel with a round, square-bore leaf-type rear sight. Fine lock plate and round-bodied hammer, chiselled with a rocaille pattern and a trophy of weapons. Bassinet with bridle and spark guard. Chiselled brass fittings, decorated with line engraving. Stock plate engraved ‘1684’. Sturdy, carved cheek rest (the coat-of-arms thumb piece is missing and there are restorations beneath the lock), with a stag-horn butt plate. Stock ramrod with a stag’s antler tip.
