Lightened rampart rifle, Model 1840 Round barrel with fluted breech, stamped and dated ‘1841’, with a rear sight set for 600 metres. Lock engraved ‘Mre Rle de Châtellerault’. Fittings and butt plate with iron hooks. Walnut stock with hallmark, bearing the barrel’s serial number, with a manufacturer’s ‘V’-shaped notch at the butt end. Stock ramrod with a heavy iron head. Barrel length: 85.5 cm. Overall length: 127.5 cm. With a Model 1840 bayonet featuring a bronze handle and crossguard, hallmarked. Yatagan blade hallmarked at the heel. Sheath made of sheet iron.
