1822 model flintlock musket. Round-bore flintlock barrel with fluted sides, stamped and dated ‘1847’. Brass rear sight. Breech plate engraved ‘Mle 1822’. Firing mechanism engraved ‘Mre Rle de Mutzig’ with a brass disc at the tail. Round-bodied hammer. Brass fittings bearing various hallmarks, but a uniform ‘W’ hallmark on each fitting.
