Imperial Guard grenadier’s percussion rifle, Model 1854. Round-bore barrel with fluted muzzle, hallmarked and dated ‘M 1856’. Rear lock plate marked ‘Mre Impale de Mutzig’ and round-bodied hammer. Breech block stamped ‘Mle 1854’ with rear sight. Iron fittings uniformly stamped. Walnut stock with remnants of a stamp. Iron ramrod with flared head. Barrel length: 108 cm. Overall length: 147.5 cm. A.B.E. With scabbard bayonet (Lg: 53.5 cm).
