Rare Chassepot Model 1862 dragoon trial rifle, 12 mm calibre. Round barrel with stamped rifling, dated C 1865. Opening breechblock with bolt. Flat-bodied rear trigger guard marked ‘Mre Impale de Châtellerault’ and round-bodied hammer. Stamped brass fittings. Walnut stock with an 1865 hallmark, bearing the barrel serial number ‘160’. Fine iron ramrod with a nail-head tip. Barrel length: 88.5 cm. Overall length: 130.5 cm. B.E. With bayonet featuring a central ferrule (52.7 cm).
