Flintlock musket, believed to be a dragoon or artillery model, 1822 type. Round barrel with fluted recesses, dated ‘1827’ and hallmarked. Butt plate engraved ‘Mle 1822’. Firing mechanism engraved ‘Mre Rle de Tulle’ and round-bodied hammer. Hallmarked brass fittings (cap with a different hallmark). Walnut stock (with minor chips) bearing a stamp and a PLD stamp. Iron ramrod with a flared tip. Length: 91.5 cm. Overall length: 130.5 cm. With bayonet (Lg: 53.5 cm). White metal scabbard with a brass pommel. The Model 1816 artillery musket was issued to the dragoons in 1832.
