Flintlock infantry musket, Model 1777–Year IX, manufactured in Charleville. Round barrel with fluted breech, bearing the remnants of the date ‘815’. Breech block engraved ‘M 1777’. Flat-bodied lock engraved ‘Manufre Imple de Charleville’ and a round-bodied hammer. Stamped iron fittings; the butt plate’s reverse side marked ‘F N11’. Walnut stock with traces of a stamp. Iron ramrod. Barrel length: 113.5 Overall length: 153 cm. A.B.E. (Uniform pitting) With a socket bayonet (47.5 cm).
