Officer’s flintlock musket. Round barrel with flat sides at the muzzle. Lock plate bearing the remains of the signature ‘Antoine Dumarest’ and a swan-neck trigger with a round body. Bassinet with a strap. Plain, chiselled iron fittings. Front of the trigger guard and tail of the counter-lock feature a stylised fleur-de-lis. Walnut stock engraved ‘1789 LA BAUME’. Iron grip. Barrel length: 94 cm. Overall length: 134 cm. With an officer’s bayonet with a sheath but no ferrule (puncture marks, length: 25.5 cm). A.B.E. Circa 1780
