Description
Dumonthier-system percussion pistol dagger, double-shot. Straight blade with a groove flanked by two round barrels on either side, stamped ‘DUMONTHIER’ and ‘BREVET Ion’. Guard formed of two double quillons, two of which are removable and feature chequered ridges serving as hammers, numbered ‘883’. A single trigger. Handle with grooved horn scales secured by three rivet screws. Shaped scabbard covered in black patent leather, with two nickel silver fittings. Length: 32 cm A.B.E. (Minor oxidation, one hammer does not catch properly) Circa 1850.
