France: Souvenirs from the Tuileries Palace. Set of 3 table medals, by P. Tasset: small model, with the obverse depicting Marianne wearing a Phrygian cap, marked underneath ‘Jacques France Inv. 1883’; 2 large models, one featuring on the obverse a depiction of Marianne wearing a Phrygian cap, marked behind the head ‘Jacques France’, and the other bearing on the reverse ‘METAL FOUND IN THE RUINS OF THE TUILERIES PALACE, FOUNDED IN THE YEAR 1564 AND DESTROYED BY FIRE ON 24 MAY 1871’, numbered ‘No. 3100’, signed A. Picart. The set is presented framed under glass, with a handwritten note reading: ‘To Mr Delapierre; the sculptor’s daughter, with republican regards, Y. Matanteau-France, 15 April 1939’.
