Description
Double-barrelled flintlock hunting rifle. Round, flat-mouthed barrels, decorated in gold around the front sight and with lightning bolts, hallmarked ‘LC’ and marked on the band ‘Pirmet à Paris’, with a patinated finish. Triggers signed in gold ‘Pirmet à Paris’ and swan-neck hammers, engraved and marbled. The basins of the hammers are silver-plated. The insides of the hammers are dated ‘1807’ and numbered ‘165’. Iron fittings, cut and engraved. The trigger guard is decorated with a winged angel’s head and palmettes. Front of the trigger guard decorated with a vase surmounted by fruit. Trigger guard engraved with an urn filled with fruit and chiselled with palmettes. Pistol grip, in walnut, partly chequered, with a green leather cheek piece edged with silver braid. The stock is made of whalebone, with a brass ferrule and an iron ramrod. BE Manufactured in 1807. (slight oxidation and stains; minor repair to the stock collar)
