MEMORABILIA. Enamelled medallion depicting the profile of Second Lieutenant Jean-Claude Thélot, who died at Dien Bien Phu. Diameter 10 cm. BE Second Lieutenant Jean-Claude Thélot (1927–1954) EOR, he joined the 18th RIPC in Pau in October 1951, having qualified as an instructor and volunteered for Indochina, he joined the 5th Vietnamese Parachute Battalion (BPVN) and parachuted into Dien Bien Phu on 14 March. He was killed by artillery fire during the night of 30–31 March 1954.
