CORPO D'ARMATA medal. Silver medal with full ribbon. This medal is an Italian colonial coin, struck to honour the troops of the Eritrean Army Corps during the conquest of Ethiopia (1935-1936). Composed mainly of Ascari (indigenous Eritrean soldiers) led by Italian officers. They were renowned for their bravery, particularly at the battle of Shiré and Amba Aradam. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. CORPO D'ARMATA medal. Silvered metal construction, complete ribbon. This medal is a colonial issue struck in honour of the troops of the Eritrean Army Corps during the conquest of Ethiopia, 1935-1936. Composed mainly of Ascari, Eritrean indigenous soldiers commanded by Italian officers, these troops were renowned for their bravery, notably during the Battle of Amba Aradam. Showing honest wear and patina. Condition II+.
