CORPO D'ARMATA medal. Silver medal with full ribbon. This medal is an Italian colonial coin, struck to honour the troops of the Eritrean Army Corps during the conquest of Ethiopia (1935-1936). Composed mainly of Ascari (indigenous Eritrean soldiers) led by Italian officers. They were renowned for their bravery, particularly at the battle of Shiré and Amba Aradam. Some wear and patina.
