Bavarian M1886 artillery or light horse helmet. Very nice helmet, nice undrilled bomb, size 56. All brass fittings. Large plate with the Bavarian coat of arms, beautiful gilding and patina, fixed by threaded rod and wing nuts. Fluted unscrewable point with Perlring on cruciform base. Beautiful counterplate. Good roundels. Scalloped curved chinstrap, one missing and terminal clip broken on left side. Beautiful markings in the bomb, a manufacturer of Munich, reception in BA I in 1914. M1886 Bavarian artillery or Chevau-léger helmet. Very attractive helmet with fine unrepaired shell, size 56. All brass fittings. Large Bavarian arms plate with fine gilt finish and patina, secured by threaded posts and wing nuts. Fluted removable spike with pearl ring on cruciform base. Fine rear support plate. Good cockades. Domed scalloped scale chinstrap with one scale missing and broken terminal clasp on the left side. Fine markings inside the shell including a Munich manufacturer and acceptance at BA I in 1914.
