Signature of the artist Ernst Barlach. Height with base. 34 cm. Length 42 cm, weight approx. 8 kg. Ernst Barlach, born on 2 January 1870 in Wedel and died on 24 October 1938 in Rostock, was a German expressionist sculptor. He also worked as a designer, engraver and playwright. He was a warmonger before the First World War, but his involvement in that conflict changed his views and he is known for his anti-war sculptures. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. Bronze eagle.
