Description
German grip holster. Black grain leather holster. The flap has been cut off, as well as the place for the magazine. The rear belt loop is present. This piece is a war prize from a member of General Leclerc's 2nd Armoured Division. It was personalised by this soldier by adding a rank stud, an SS headdress eagle, and an NSDAP oak leaf roundel. When this holster was recovered in early 2026, there were also knight's iron cross oak leaves on the flap. We have removed these oak leaves to present them separately in this catalogue. The mark is still visible, as are the two perforations. These oak leaves are offered under number 4717 in this same sale session on 28 June 2026. Some wear and patina. Condition II+.Captured German holster. Black pebbled leather construction. The flap has been cut down, as has the spare magazine compartment. Rear belt loop remains present. This piece was a wartime souvenir brought back by a member of General Leclerc's 2nd Armoured Division. It was personalised by the veteran through the addition of a rank pip, an SS cap eagle, and an NSDAP oak-leaf cockade. When the holster was recovered at the beginning of 2026, a set of Knight's Cross Oak Leaves was also mounted on the flap. These oak leaves have since been removed and are offered separately in this catalogue under lot No. 4717 of the same auction session held on 28 June 2026. The outline of the former mounting remains visible, together with the two attachment holes. Showing honest wear and patina. Condition II+.
